I love a little fireplace tucked into a corner of a room.
Simple.
Beautiful.
This antique cast iron fireplace surround was found along with a
whole room full of antique Swedish furniture.
There was an armoire, desk, vanity, nightstand , 2 side chairs
and gorgeous bed frame along with this fireplace
$200 on craigslist last year.

Yeah, I thought it was a typo too.
I have seen little dainty fireplaces in beautiful rooms in many magazines and books.
I loved the instant charm that leaning a fireplace against the wall brings.
This surround is very, very heavy…
but very petite at the same time.

I am thinking a little monogram in that center oval area!
It also came with a mantel mirror- which I am not using on it.
(the mirror is getting a makeover as we speak! )
I just love all the details this piece has.
It’s a keeper for sure.
For now, it’s in the quirky sitting area outside my bedroom.
It has built in bookcases filled with design books,
a French armoire,a crystal chandelier, a spot to sit…
and also quirks galore.
That’s what you get with all the charm of an old cottage…
quirks are part of the package.
I brought a couple of baskets of dried hydrangeas
as well as a super chippy~ chippy old framed chalkboard
Loving the new white color on it…
and I am thinking about placing this little fireplace in the kitchen
if I can work the spot right…

hmmmm…
🙂
See you this afternoon for Feathered Nest Friday!

Lovely vignette!
Love that little fire surround. I have a small space and that is the perfect size to add without taking up too much space. (I'll be on the look out for one.) You have styled it masterfully. I like it there, but can't wait to see what you do with it in the kitchen. Fabulous!

I love your shabby fireplace. That is one thing I've been trying to save for to add to the master bedroom. Barb has one in her dining room you'd love! Here's the post she did on it.
