Yesterday, I woke up poured my coffee and then looked at the calendar and realized it was July 1st.
As in… July 1st.
Which means we are almost halfway through summer.
Which then leads me to the question…
Where in the world did June go?
And May? And April? And basically 2018 so far?
That summer home tour I had planned?
Yeah…
I am already looking at pumpkins and doing some fall planning.
Which is insane.
So. I am ALL about simple over here right now.
Simple blooms. Simple decor. Simple summer.
I did get a few summer touches in the bathroom recently for a HomeGoods post.
So thought I would share those today-
which makes me feel like I at least appear to have decorated the house for summer.
😉
Of course my number 1 tip for any refresh any time of year is fresh flowers.
I can’t get enough.
And in the bathroom, I love to use them on the sink vanity and by the tub.
You might remember seeing this faux bois vase that I recently shared.
I am obsessed with it. And currently on the hunt for another.
It is perfect in the bathroom with fresh peonies and adds a wee bit of rustic charm.
A basket full of fresh white towels is always a good thing. I buy them by the dozen and swap out any that are less than comfy and use those for household cleaning tasks.
New crisp and fresh towels are something so simple and easy to update and that make a huge difference in the welcoming feeling in the bathroom while being stored and while using them.
I also added some little white curtains on the window- will share more about how easy these were to make and put up soon.
Love how the sunlight is diffused through them.
In the armoire- a collection of pretty bottles and bath bits create a charming vignette while being stored.
A tip with storage- when you have open shelving like I do in the bathroom- use baskets for the things you don’t want to see or that are not pretty- and search out pretty things that you use everyday.
Like this Argan oil? So smooth and silky for your skin.
I am obsessed with using it under my moisturizer after getting out of the shower.
And the fact that I found some in a blush bottle?
Well, hello. It was right in my cart.
I also added a rose water spray for spritzing,
peony scented lotion and chunky blush bar soaps for a pretty vignette on a vintage tray
that is also within easy reach for everyday use.
By the tub, simple and sweet.
New blush towels and a chunky candle warm up this spot.
I also added another one of those milk jugs here with a few peonies.
Those milk jugs are insanely fabulous. A set of 3 were under $7 and are so perfect for using
for flowers or in the kitchen for mixing up some golden milk or juice and storing it.
Under foot in the bathroom- a vintage rug.
I had this particular rug in the entry area and after having several rugs cleaned-
decided to change up the look a bit.
I moved this one and another one into the bathroom and absolutely love it in here.
Simple and sweet fresh and perfect for a burst of summer sunshine
and if you are running around like a wild one like me
wondering how in the world it is the week of the 4th of July already.
🙂
Speaking of that-
I am off to do a bit of decorating for the 4th- and will be sharing some inspiration
with you soon.
Happy Monday everyone.
