‘I’m dreaming of a white Christmas tree’
I am not a big fan of snow but I do love a beautiful white Christmas tree. And today it is all about a simple and sweet look and how to decorate a white Christmas tree.
White Christmas Tree
Sometimes I love trees covered in ornaments and pretty little bits and baubles. But more often- I tend to stay on the quieter side as far as decor goes. This tree is definitely more of a minimal decorated tree- just 4 different things and it was a wrap!
French Country Ornaments on a white Christmas tree
You know those mercury glass French country ornaments are my go -to. They appear on several of the trees I put up each year. I love their silvery mottled finish and soft blush tones.
Tip: Softer colors and tones in ornaments are beautiful on any tree. On a white Christmas tree that is so full of brightness – I think they work beautifully for keeping the look quietly pretty.
Tinsel
In 2020 when Christmas was feeling so different- I decided we could use more tinsel around here. And so, tinsel has become part of the trees just like ornaments. Sometimes it is just a little bit- sometimes more. I do love that shimmer shine magic it brings. I didn’t originally plan to use tinsel on this white Christmas tree- but I decided to go for it and love how it looks.
Tip: You don’t have to go big or go home with tinsel. Just a bit is also perfect- add a few strands to a few branches on the tree- or drape some on a wreath for a beautiful sparkle.
Rhinestone Fringe Garland
It is on repeat over here this year for sure. I shared a peek at some of this garland appearing on the living room tree the other day- and this white tree just seemed to ask for a little more glam. So I added just a couple of strands.
Tip: Think outside the box with ornaments and garlands. You don’t have to use traditional decor if you are inspired by something different. If you love it- it is perfect!
Ribbons
I know I already mentioned ribbons on the trees is kind of my favorite look – and so, voila- ribbons on the white tree was the finishing touch. I did not add a topper to this tree- I am about 50/50 on toppers- sometimes the trees have one- sometimes they have a ribbon -sometimes just ornaments and that is all. I know it isn’t necessarily traditional- but this is a big tree and it is a light and bright tree- I didn’t feel it needed anything heavy on the top.
Tip: Layers of ribbon adds an extra touch of lovely. Keep the colors cohesive to keep the overall look cohesive- unless you prefer more contrast.
