Welcome to the Weekend View. This week is full of spring blooming beauty, garden work, thrifting finds and family fun.
Garden Glory
We have been working out in the garden to get things cleaned up & new plants planted. My husband found a bunch of potted peonies marked on clearance and brought them home and so, we are figuring out where to plant a new peony garden cutting area. Along with that, those delphiniums that are so tall and stately are having a moment. We are playing with some different areas to plant these beauties and some of them will be landing here in this little area filled with garden roses and lilacs.
Sweet little Faux Cake
The most random thrifting treasure of the week- a pretty little faux cake. I spotted this in a small thrift store and instantly grabbed it. It is not a usual find for me but you know, I was instantly styling it for an Alice in Wonderland kind of setting in my mind and knew it was coming home with me.

My family thought I was a little crazy. I might be haha. What do you think of this sweet cake? I just love it. I will share more of it properly styled on a table soon.
Family day fun
We get together with our kids and grands every week for a family day. Sometimes it is just having fun at the house, other times it is going to the zoo or something along those lines.

Now that the weather is warmer, it has been all about water fun in the backyard.

Moments of Joy

One of our favorite things to do in spring is to hit the road and enjoy a bit of travel around Northern California to soak up all the blooming beauty. Last week, we took a drive to a ‘blooming’ garden tour. My daughter wanted to meet one of her friends who was driving over from Nevada and so, we all met in the countryside to do a blooming garden wander. We helped out with their kids while my daughter and her friends caught up and we all had such a good time soaking up all the beauty.

The Itoh peonies were spectacular- we have a few of them planted in the garden this year and I can hardly wait for them to bloom. We also decided that we might need a lovely little garden gazebo like this one. It is such a sweet little spot and those tulips gathered in front- beyond beautiful.

Happy weekend friends.
Gorgeous, and what a great idea! I came across a delightful mad hatter’s hat on the cheap on ebay and am planning a little tableau al a alice and w., as well. can’t wait to see yours. i am sure it will be splendid!!
It is such a fun find!
Life needs a gazebo!!! franki
I think so!
I love the color of your Flower Magic book. Is that actually your gazebo, or is it a picture of the gazebo you have in mind for your garden? I would love to have a gazebo, but cannot figure out a way to work one into my yard.
This is a gazebo that was in the garden tour we visited so it is one we have in mind.
The flowers are amazing and the cake is fabulous. You always find the coolest things.
Hi Courtney,
I ordered your book, but the ebook link you sent doest work.
Help!! and thanks
Hi Cathie,
Can you email me details or a screenshot of the problem you are having? The link and the password should have both been sent in the same email. I haven’t heard from anyone else having a problem so far so not sure what is happening but am happy to check into it or send again if needed.
And THANK YOU for your preorder! So appreciated!
