Welcome to the weekend view friends. This week it’s all about the abundance of blooming beauty in the yard, summer solstice fun and more.
In Bloom
Last week my new book bloomed when it was released and this weekend- there is even more blooming happening. My daughter and I worked on an evening photoshoot up by the sweet peas. I am always goofing off while we work and she always manages to capture something goofy or funny that I am doing. This time, she caught me kicking up my heels in the flowers and laughing as I slipped on a stick.

My husband always wonders what exactly we are up to when we are ‘working’ because there is so much banter and laughing that goes on.

Even little Curly loves the grove of sweet peas that are blooming right now. He doesn’t wander into them but he does look for treats just at the edge. Curly is a teeny tiny rooster- he probably doesn’t weigh more than 1/3rd to a 1/2 of a lb and he is a frizzled silkie chicken and is such a sweet boy. He comes to the door to come in the house every day and loves to cozy up on his blanket by the fireplace. Ahem- yes, he is a bit spoiled- we love him.
Foxgloves in the greenhouse
If you already have my new book- you know that the greenhouse was filled with foxgloves for a lovely little photo for a chapter opener. I adore foxgloves and they are always on repeat in the garden. They are poisonous so if you choose to bring them home- just be mindful if you have curious children or pets. We keep our foxgloves planted in the fenced off area to be safe but so far, no one seems too interested in them when around them.

Blooming Blooms
Talking about blooming blooms- the flowers we set out for Sophie’s birthday party looked like a moment all by themselves. We placed them into the big vintage floral containers we found a couple of years ago and they were perfect for placing around the patio for a flower filled bit of oomph.

Party fun
I mentioned that there were some last minute party ideas and fun things we did to create a lovely setting for everyone to enjoy for Sophies birthday party. A request from her mom for a lace covered teepee tent happened. Only problem was I couldn’t find the photo shoot one I had on hand. So I created one quickly with what I had on hand. I really needed at least 1 more long branch to support all the fabric but it worked. Juliette enjoyed taking her snacks inside to sit for a bit.
