Welcome to the weekend view. This week is a special kind of weekend view- full of beauty, family and fun including a birthday boy and sharing a new addition to the family.
Birthday Boy
This handsome guy is turning 26 this month. Not sure how he got so grown up already! Cullan and his girlfriend Diem went up to Tahoe this weekend to play in the water and get away from the crazy heat for a bit- and we did a bit of grand dog sitting for a couple of days.
A new little someone
And in other ‘birthday news’… Remember the baby shower I shared with the buggy filled with flowers? It was a celebration for someone very special- and I am excited to share that a new little someone joined the family and made grandparents! We are all beyond in love with this sweet baby girl named Juliette.
We have been doing lots of newborn baby snuggling & helping my son and his new family get settled in. It is so special to see your baby become a parent and fall in love instantly just like you did with them when they were born.
I was young when my first baby was born and that made my mom a grandma in her 40’s- she chose what she thought was a ‘young’ grandma name for my kids to call her. Fun Fact: my baby sister Taylor was just 5 years old when my oldest son was born & Taylor brought Ryan into her kindergarten class for show & tell to show that she was an auntie. 🙂
All Dressed Up
With nowhere to go… or maybe it is All Dressed Up Roses today. These roses are blooming away right now and I am loving how they look. There are probably 2-3 dozen+ open right now- I am heading out in a few minutes to cut them before the crazy heat ruins them today. And we just installed some misters outside to help with the heat- for our chickens and goats. The chickens being so fluffy seem to be a tad hotter than regular chickens. We have already had to dip them in cool water – and so hoping the misters help with this triple digit heat wave.
A short and sweet celebration kind of weekend view over here today.

Aww congratulations! My son and his wife are fairly private (hence the feet and no baby face photo) but if they let me- will of course share some snaps of Juliette from time to time. She is such a darling girl! 🙂
Ohhhh, nothing better than becoming a grandparent. Congratultions everyone!! I adore her name, Juliette, and she is so adorable. I myself became a grandma when i had just turned 39!! Loved every minute of it and was the start of Grandma Ashley. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!!!

I became a grandmother ‘nana’ in my early 40’s. I had twin 5-year-olds at the time. The twins are now 26 and their niece is 21. They are very close and it feels as tho they are more like cousins. Enjoy that sweet new baby!
My sister is very close with my kids too for that same reason.
