Welcome to the weekend view.
This week has been a chock full busy one over here- and so, those Labor Day plans look a lot like relaxing. Here is a look back at the week that was.
Sweet Pea has been enjoying having Ansley at the house again. She has been following her around and lounging out in the cottage with her- and has even been playing with toys with our grand dog Cleo. She is getting ready for a spa day today with a wash and trim and a fancy manicure.
My daughter and her fiancé loaded up both of their cars when they evacuated Tahoe last weekend. The usual things like photos and irreplaceable treasures were first, computers and valuables and clothes and anything and everything else they could fit – all made it into their cars. And since they are both big fans of Halloween decorating – they also brought a favorite mascot with them.
This is what greeted me when I walked out to the cottage the day after they arrived. We will be getting an early start on the Halloween decorating over here I suppose. haha.
Last week we filled in the window boxes with a few purple verbena. Between the crazy heat and the water restrictions – the greenhouse garden, veggie garden and our usual plants like window boxes have really been feeling a bit lackluster this year. Something good with verbena is that it is drought resistant and requires very little attention to thrive. They do well in the window boxes and bloom almost year round and will come back fully in the spring.
Piles of Pillows
Anyone else find something pretty about piles of pillows? I was making the bed and saw this pile stacked on one of the chairs and was inspired to take a snap. There is something about a mess of pillows and fabrics mingling that I find beauty in.
Always fun to do a little wandering on the weekend.
BAKE: This Honey Whipped Feta with Garlic and Olives looks AMAZING
DECORATE: Such a beautiful idea for an open concept kitchen.
CREATE: Love this chair transformation– so darn beautiful!
Coming your way
Something fun with that mirror renovation, a peek at autumn appearing around the house, the little cottage kitchen updates reveal (finally!), a delicious apple recipe & more.
Happy weekend all.
