Happy June everyone!
The start of June is almost like the start of summer- and the start of patio and entertaining season. School is out, warm evenings are in full swing and that lazy summer afternoon nap in the hammock is looking like perfection.
Even though we have been outdoors entertaining already- and the ‘official’ start to summer is weeks away yet- it just feels like an unofficial kick-off.
And so today… it is all about summer porch and patio stylings
and getting ready for summer entertaining.
I am joining several friends today- and sharing 8 tips for styling your outdoor entertaining areas.

Let’s talk patio styling…
A sprinkle of weathered wicker, vintage finds and fresh flowers
for a new look on the patio.
Tip: One of my favorite tips for any styling is to mix and mingle both vintage and new-
and make sure that there are some ‘imperfect’ pieces as well.
2. Pea gravel patio inspiration
Pea gravel patios are pretty much my favorite type of patio.
They feel old world, have an authentic relaxed living kind of charm
and they are incredibly easy to put in and enjoy in a weekend.
In this post- I shared several inspirations for a new styling.
And the result from those inspirations.
Soft and welcoming- a mix of blush and white and beautiful natural wood
on a simple pea gravel patio.
Tip: Don’t be afraid to go with soft colors outdoors if that is what you love.
Every yard deserves a charming little cabana doesn’t it?
Or a quiet spot to lounge in the warm sunshine maybe.
This little bamboo daybed is perfect poolside or out on the lawn.
Tip: Pile it up with pillows full of your favorite patterns and textures and
settle in for a nap.
One of my favorite things for summer?
A comfy hammock in between two trees to relax and star gaze in.
And I love to layer the charm on with blankets and pillows piled high.
Tip:
Dress your hammock like you would a bedroom.
A twin size comforter, extra pillows and a place to set a glass of tea.
6. Garden party
I always think of Alice in Wonderland when I think of garden parties – and along with Alice
comes whimsy and quirky fun.
Tip: bring indoor chairs out for a comfy spot to sit.
And they don’t all have to match to create a beautiful spot for friends and family.
Yes, a strong cup of coffee and moment of inspiration when I noticed very similar shaped cushions..
and those white slipcovers from indoors found a new home.
Why not repurpose those less than perfect slips and refresh your patio at the same time?
