A Charlie Brown inspired Christmas tree decorated with beautiful vintage baubles and wrapped in a vintage quilt tree skirt.
Charlie Brown Christmas Tree
I have a soft spot for spindly little Christmas trees. With their dainty little shape and spindly branches- they instantly evoke an image of a Charlie Brown style Christmas. My favorite way to decorate them- with all kinds of vintage mercury glass baubles and beaded garlands. This particular tree also has a bit of glam with some tinsel and a special tree skirt.
Vintage Ornaments & Tinsel
I collect vintage ornaments whenever I find them all year long. I am always bringing them home with me and I might have a few big boxes full that I add to each year. This tree is a mix and mingle of different colors and sizes- but of course you can always go with only your favorite color for a more cohesive look.
Tip: Mix and mingle or simple and sweet- there is no right or wrong way to decorate a Christmas tree. Whatever makes you happy is the perfect way so don’t be afraid to express your personality.
The garland is a simple rhinestone pearl garland and a drizzle of tinsel just adds something extra special.
Dainty Velvet Bows
I also added dainty velvet bows to some of the branches for a sweet touch and a little nostalgia. This one is a vintage olive green and blends in beautifully with the other colors.
Vintage Quilt Tree Skirt
I am always looking for different ways to dress a tree underneath- whether that is a beautiful basket, crate or traditional stand or skirt. Or a non traditional look with a chunky blanket or fabric. Nothing is off limits- I love what I love. For this look, I grabbed one of the vintage quilts I had on hand and wrapped it around the tree. Pretty perfect.
Tip: Use what inspires you as a tree skirt. It doesn’t have to be a traditional one- of course, unless that is what you prefer. There are many different ways to create a little extra interest under the tree with unique stands and containers – or unique ‘skirts’.
