Christmas decor can be full of glitz and glam, romantic touches, traditional colors and styles, monochromatic and eclectic style, farmhouse, vintage, etc. Basically- you name it. Truly, Christmas decor and themes are really up to you and what speaks to you. And natural Christmas decor is always one of my favorites. Fresh clipped greens, pinecones and gathered bits from the yard or a walk- always on repeat over here.
Natural Christmas Decor
I have a mingle of Christmas styles over here- mainly because I have so many different ideas and looks that I can appreciate and enjoy- and I put up a whole lot of Christmas trees in the house. So that gives me more options to play with different looks. But I always incorporate natural touches whatever the overall palette or theme is.
Tip: Don’t be afraid to embrace simple Christmas with a ‘naked’ tree wearing just twinkle lights. They are absolutely magical as well.
Pinecones
Natural Christmas is such a lovely, simple nod to traditions and childhood holidays for me. I think of the holidays in the woods where my grandparents lived and running through their property that was dotted in pinecones.
Those pinecones- which my son Cullan called ‘pokenpines’ when he was 4- are something I love to always bring into decor. Whether it is a bowl of pinecones, a garland or a wreath – or simply placing them on the tree.
Fresh Greens
I know we have talked about fresh greens many times- but they can be so highly underrated I think. Even just a couple of clippings do wonders for warming up your home at Christmas. You can often grab armfuls of them at home improvement stores after they are clipped from the base of the fresh Christmas trees.
Tip: Incorporate fresh greens- just a few clippings in the cupboard, with ornaments in a bowl or tucked in nearly anywhere.
Twigs and Branches
Think outside and outside the box– and use twigs and branches, simple seasonal berries and dried flowers for a beautiful look as well.
- Little twigs tucked in the tree, dried rose hips and berries on branches and other seasonal touches like dried roses are perfect for bringing nature inside.
Keeping this post short and sweet today- we have a sweet baby frizzle who is injured that we are taking care of medicine, treats and keeping him indoors where it is warm by the fire.
