Because I just spent the day decorating a Christmas tree at a magical place in North Carolina – it must be time to share some Halloween inspiration.
I have been in Asheville, North Carolina for a couple of days with my Balsam Hill family at The Biltmore. Such a beautiful place- I must have snapped 100 photos of the house and grounds. Incredible. And the scenery here is so lovely too- those rolling hills and greenery- gorgeous.
But I wasn’t here just to tour the Biltmore – I have actually been singing Christmas songs and enjoying all that holiday ambiance while decorating a Christmas tree.
More coming soon- today it is all about a few Halloween ideas.
1. Whimsical Halloween Mantel (and sneak at some favorites costumes from the past)
One of my favorite halloween mantels- this whimsical one full of twinkling trees, old houses and maybe a few spooks.
2. Charming pumpkins -with a secret.
Not necessarily halloween- unless you turn them around. These terra cotta pumpkins are so cute as is and when you flip them around.
3. Elegant Living Room
I love to add a bit of elegant decor for halloween. Lanterns, candles flickering and lots of ambiance in the house. This post all about Elegant Halloween is one of my favorites.
4. Spooky Halloween
If you are looking for a little bit more of a spooky and traditional feeling halloween table setting- this Spooky Halloween Table Setting is full of ‘halloween’ ambiance.
5. Elegant Halloween
And another halloween table setting idea if you are looking for something a little less spooky and a little more elegant.
And a few for the road that are big blasts from the past
Spiders crawling on a mirror
just tape a few spiders here and there- on a mirror, on the wall, etc and add a halloween touch in just a few minutes.
Bats on the wall – and a couple mice for fun
You can find these cutouts nearly anywhere- these are from the Dollar Store- easy and inexpensive.
A creepy chalkboard
Add a ghoulish saying to a chalkboard and tuck it into a vignette.
Stack up those pumpkins and jack o lanterns for a fun effect.
That is about it for today- happy Wednesday everyone.

I'm admiring your outdoor fireplace once again! I would love to recreate it in my next house. It is such a useful prop in decorating your outdoors…I wouldn't even have to lite it ever to be happy with it.

Love these ideas, Courtney! Not too spooky. 🙂 I made a chalkboard recently and will have to think of something clever like yours here for Halloween.
Hope the Biltmore was everything you hoped it would be,
Barb 🙂
